I just listed this awesome vintage suitcase on my website and I wanted to share one of the ways it can be repurposed.
Vintage Brown Leather Suitcase $89.99 SOLD
You can easily turn one of these classic 1970s hardcover suitcases into snazzy looking pet bed. It doesn't really take much! Grab a soft pillow, blanket or rug for the bottom of the suitcase. I used a faux sheepskin rug from Hobby Lobby, but choose something that matches your own style. Then gather your pet's favorite toys and stock the interior pouches of the suitcase.
This particular suitcase has a beautiful interior. The fabric is in great condition and it has lots of pockets for storing toys and treats.
It took my cat about half a minute to warm up to this new bed! It would also work perfectly for a small dog. I actually have two cats at home so I'm thinking about making another one of these using a much larger trunk. Then maybe there will be enough room for them to cuddle together.
You could attach some thin hairpin style legs to the bottom of the suitcase if you wanted it to sit higher off the floor. In this case I'm fine with the bed sitting on the floor, as that's what I my cats are used to. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this idea. Here are some suggestions for you to recreate the look. Thanks for reading!

I am loving this idea for upcycled vintage chandelier crystals via Two Purple Couches blog. She has a step-by-step tutorial posted for turning old chandelier crystals into beautiful necklaces using suede cord and a few standard jewelry-making supplies.
